Survivor: Redemption Island, the 22nd season of the CBS reality competition series, premiered on February 16, 2011. Filmed in Nicaragua from August to September 2010, the season introduced the Redemption Island twist, where eliminated contestants were given a second chance to re-enter the game by competing in head-to-head duels on a secluded island.
